Big Green Drinks Boulder: January at the Draft House

Tonight we all moseyed out to the Draft House for some good beer and green cheer in the latest installment of Green Drinks Boulder (last Tuesday of every month).
[singlepic id=4 w=320 h=240 float=left]On top of the quesadillas and the award-winning brews on tap, the back room was busting at the seams with all manner of greenie — you had your salesfolk, your media relations people, your event organizers, your students and your just-green-dudes.
One such green dude is Green Drinks regular Rick — I see him every time, and he said he’s been going for a while. Even tried out the Denver GD. I haven’t been down to one of those, but I’m told it’s larger and a bit more unwieldy. He’s pictured here with GD co-organizer Sarah, who identifies herself as communications maven at the ReDirect Guide.
[singlepic id=3 w=320 h=240 float=right] I was feeling a little under the weather today (less so than yesterday, thanks for asking) and maybe not totally excited to show up to a Green Drinks where I couldn’t actually take part in the drinking — especially since I’m a fan of that 44 Pale Ale. Happily, when I dove in and started shooting photos I met the very friendly pair in this photo. Jules, at left, works for natural foods icon White Wave, and Marie, at right, organizes the Blue River Century, which she says is the first zero-waste bike race.
Zero waste and bikes. Not bad!
[singlepic id=2 w=320 h=240 float=left] Finally, we get to the group where I may have caused the most confusion and/or commotion by saying that Anneli, far right, reminded me of Olivia Zaleski, a former colleague. I got some backup from Jessica, who was at first also suspicious of me with my camera. Can’t blame you! Heather informed me that they work for New Hope Natural Media, organizing and promoting the Natural Marketplace expos.
Among other swell attendees, I also talked to the Boulderganic crew and Brody and Ryan from Design Within Reach — they’re threatening to host some greenish events in the store soon, so maybe we can all look forward to sitting in some awesomely weird chairs while enjoying fancy beverages. For now I’m settling for attempting to fight off this cold with some tea. Catch you next month!
