The Boulder bus system is well-known and well-used in Boulder, but perhaps less well-known is the woman responsible for many of the most convenient aspects of the transit system: Andrea Robbins.  Now, after 18 years working for Go Boulder, Robbins is retiring.

The transit system in Boulder, with a series of smaller buses running more frequently to hot spots around Boulder, is a key aspect of Boulder’s green image.

Robbins said her greatest achievement, however, is the Eco Pass program. She helped drive the discounted bus passes by visiting with business leaders, and later with neighborhoods, touting the benefits of alternative transportation.

“If I died and had a tombstone, it would say, ‘The Eco Pass Lady,’” she joked

A graduate of CU, Robbins returned to Boulder in 1990 and promptly joined the newly formed Go Boulder office, the city’s alternative transportation program.  Though last Friday was her last day, thanks to her Boulder will continue to bus, bike and walk.
